Thank You Miss Amy
We really were blessed to have stumbled upon Amy being available, and willing, to watch Miss C these last few months. It was nice to see Miss C's face light up when Amy got here in the mornings and to come home to see all the new things that they had worked on during the day. I think Miss C really benefitted from being in Amy's care and we will be forever grateful for her time and involvement in Miss C's early development.
Amy truly loves Miss C and it was evident whenever they were together that the feeling was mutual. The transition to day care is not one we were ready to make, Amy included, but circumstances forced us to make this move and I am trying to remind myself that everything happens for a reason.
Still, we want Amy to continue to be a part of Miss C's life and are planning to have her come over one night a week or so they can stay connected (And we get a date night.). Yet it will not be the same and we all know that.
In the end Miss C will be fine...her transition visit to the day care showed us what we already knew which is she is a very adaptable and social baby and that the day care is a good place. We adults, however, might struggle a little.
Thank you so much Amy for all the love and care you gave to Miss C. We will never forget this time or your impact on her life.

9 Month Observations of Miss C
Dear Baby Girl,
Tonight while I put your laundry away you played happily in your crib and I was enjoying the fact that you could play by yourself for so long. I was quite surprised to find you standing up and laughing hysterically when I turned from your changing table to check on you.
I knew this day was coming because I have watched you work out how to hold on to the rail and place your feet in just the right way to lift yourself up. You would grunt with determination and squat with your feet tucked under you physically building up strength and mentally working it out.
There are so many qualities that mark your personality as uniquely you and determination is one of them. I love watching you come up against an obstacle and work to overcome it. You definitely are going to be strong willed like your Mom but that isn't always a bad thing, I promise.
It's amazing to me all the personality that is contained in your little 17 pound body. What a spirited little person you have become. The smiles and laughter are never-ending. You clap with enjoyment and wave both at people and at Copper and the cats. Speaking of Copper and the cats...you LOVE them and now that you are both army crawling and crawling on all fours you take off after them with squeals of delight. It is hilarious.
The other thing you LOVE is being outside and specifically being outside when it's windy. I have no idea what that is all about but you flail your arms and legs, stick out your tongue and huff and puff out huge laughs when outside.
These last nine months have been a rollar coaster ride with very high highs and a few very low lows. Thankfully, the highs have overshadowed any of the lows...like those first few weeks when you were screaming your little head off...wow! that was rough. It's amazing what trusting my instincts will do and what a little bit of time getting to know you will do for both of us. We've learned a lot about each other and I think we make a nice little family if I do say so myself.
In the next week you will embarking on a new path at the Day Care at Mom's work. I am quite confident that you will take to it with ease and thrive in that environment. I, on the other hand, will likely not handle it with the same ease and confidence. But I will try. It has been a great experience for you to be home with Miss Amy but it's time for a new and exciting journey.
Thank you Baby Girl for making these last nine months worth the nine months that preceeded them. You are the highlight of my life and I am truly blessed to be your Mom.
Love,
Your Mom

9 Months
Miss C has now be outside the belly as long as she was inside the belly. I must say, the time she has been outside has gone much, much faster.

Life continues even with no posts
Miss C continues to grow up right before our eyes even when I don't write about it here. I can't freeze her growing up no matter how hard I try.
This morning I went in to find Miss C pulled up on the side of her crib with her fingertips on a stuffed animal just a little out of reach. Thankfully we had already lowered her mattress so there was no risk of her toppling out in her pursuit. The look on her face was PRICELESS...sorta like hehehe look what I can do Mom.
Right now she is pretty occupied with clapping, waving, sticking her tongue out, army crawling, jibberjabbering, singing, giving kisses and just being thoroughly and completely excited about each and every thing she experiences. Everything she sees she wants to touch and put in her mouth. This includes, but is not limited to, dirt, dog food, paper, socks, fingers, hair and food.
This week has been a little wacko for Miss C (And her mom who has a sinus infection.). Not 100% sure what is going on but we think it's her teeth. Anyway, her eating is all over the place and there really is no pattern to what is going on. We think she's not feeling well like her Momma. I am thinking next week will be better but after she smacked her face twice in the same spot today and got a nice little bump on her forehead I am not so sure.
