Worry
How will our first baby girl handle the arrival of a new baby girl?
Our world revolves around her now. She is the highlight of our lives and we are thrilled beyond belief at the wonderfulness that is our Miss C. Everything we do now is because of her. Everything we do is about her and for her. She knows she is the center of our world and I am worried the adjustment to being the big sister and having to share us with someone else will be a struggle for her.
It is inevitable that things will change. We will all have to adjust but I am her Momma and I want that change to impact her as little as possible. I want to place her in a bubble and protect her from the hurt she may feel in her little heart when her Momma and her Daddy tend to her new baby sister. But I can't.
So I am trying now to help her adjust. We talk a lot about the new baby. I spend more time at the day care in the morning because she has started crying again when I leave. The routine is still the same but I do things a little slower to help her adjust to my leaving. At night I hold her longer and spend more time cuddling and talking about her day. I am also making sure she plays alone and don't interrupt her so she is comfortable occupying herself. That will be just as important as anything else.
But that mushy sensitive side of my heart just worries about her. The child beams with happiness and I want to ensure that glow never leaves her. I definitely don't want a new sibling to even slightly darken the brightness that is Miss C.

Wow! Didn't expect that
I put her down and we typically wait a bit, if she is resistant to going down, before we go back in to give her time to wind herself down. Some times this involves jumping up and down. Other times she throws her stuffed animals out of the crib or talks to them. Other times she sings or plays her ocean music thing.
Last night, well, it was a different sort of bed time experience.
There was a period of quite when I thought she was asleep than a big WAIL so I went to check on her. Imagine my surprise when I found her completely naked and smiling in her crib. Her face clearly communicated, "Look Mom, no clothes!" Her diaper was on the floor. Her PJs were thrown to the side and she looked damned proud of herself.
We are going to have our hands full, aren't we. Ha!

19 Weeks
I have to say I look ginormous in these pictures. Not sure if it's the jersey, the fact that I am holding Miss C or that I am bigger than I think I am, but damn. I am actually 16 weeks in these pictures and may never take a picture of myself again this pregnancy.
In other news I can feel the baby move. This is WAY earlier than I felt it with Miss C but I think it's because I know what I am feeling this time around. It's like flips and flops.
I am still sickness free...THANK GOD. The only physical issue I am having is pretty severe pelvic pain that at times makes it difficult for me to even walk if I have not been moving for awhile. I experienced similar discomfort when pregnant with Miss C, but not this severe or this constant.
Thus far the doctors have given me the "this is part of pregnancy, ligaments" BS, but I honestly don't buy it. I don't think it's necessarily a gynological thing but I think there's something going on there that is being made much worse by the pregnancy. Still, it's not vomiting so I am sucking it up.
Lights and other brightness
Adult time
The show started out with a guy who make the most deliciously sounding cocktails and then served them to people whose seats were on the stage. So jealous.
When Guy actually came on it was a mixture of hard rock, stories, jokes, drinking and some cooking thrown in for good measure. We were 4 rows from the stage...our seats were great. Only would have been better if we could have sampled the food. Yum.

Holiday Tradition #2 - H*liday in Lights
It was the highlight of Miss C's day. The noises she made showing her excitment pointing here and there at everything was hilarious. I think her face in these pictures speaks volumes.
Holiday Tradition #1 - Cookie Making
We let Miss C roll her own cookie dough which went into her mouth first, then onto the baking sheet. After they baked we decorated them with red icing and let her eat as many as she wanted. Yum Yum.
Surprise
I acted like a fool making a big deal about it so she wouldn't freak out. Hasn't happened since, but I figure that we are heading in the right direction.
