Daddy Baseball
Miss C LOVES her Daddy. I think we've clearly established she is a Daddy's girl. She really has taken an interest in "Daddy Baseball" which encompasses the 14 year olds SP coaches, college baseball on TV, the Reds, etc.
Since Miss R's arrival SP has taken C to his baseball practices to give me a bit of a break and she really enjoys it. Of course, that means she wants to go all the time and that just isn't always possible.
Last week she was home with me instead of at practice and kept asking about "Daddy baseball" so I tried to find baseball on TV for her to watch. I ended up only being able to find women's softball which she then dubbed "Lady Baseball" which totally cracked me up.
Then she started doing something and I had no clue what she was doing. She stood sideways and held her right arm at the elbow up close to her body with her left left hand. Then she swung around and rolled on the floor. I was completely and utterly confused about what she was doing but it was funny to watch. I ended up figuring it out...she was pitching like the lady baseball players based on her perspective. That's my girl!

Gatlinburg...what a trip
Maybe I was crazy to think I could take a trip with a 5 week old and a 2 year old but I never claimed to be sane. I really was just thinking a little family trip would be nice and we have had previously good trips to Gatliburg.
Overall, it wasn't the worst trip I've ever had. But, it wasn't the best either.
The cabin we stayed in was lacking in many things and had an over abundance of other things. The main area it was lacking pertained to the completion of the actual cabin leaving it exposed to the elements like rain. We think this caused Miss C to end up sick which resulted in us leaving a day early. She is pretty sick with a nasty cough and fever. The ride home was not pleasant but as of right now she seems to be doing a little better.
Poor girl, she also slipped on the floor while we were there and hit her face on the ridiculously large glass table in the cabin living room. That was one of the other areas of over abundance...the furniture. Huge and heavy, I think the cabin would have seemed larger if the furniture had been smaller.
The main area of abundance was in the area of bugs...lots of bugs inside the cabin. Now, I get that we are in the mountains and there will be bugs. I don't mind bugs in general but if I wanted to be that close to nature we would have camped. I am not fond of seeing so many bugs when I have a baby and a toddler with me.
We went on this trip because SP was coaching a ball tournament. Only once did we brave the ridiculously hot weather to watch the boys play. It proved to be injury inducing for my niece who got nailed in the wrist by a baseball. SP's pitcher was warming up before the game and I am not sure exactly what happened but the ball got away from them and it hit her. Thankfully, she is ok and left with only the stitch marks and a bruised wrist. Thankfully, as well, that my daughters, who were right near her, were not injured.
So, it was nice that my Dad and Sue were able to go with us. I could not have made this trip without their help, along with Emie's. Next time around I hope it goes better.

New Stroller
I wanted a stroller that could easily accommodate two kiddos and would be perfect for walking/running. Thanks to Allyson for turning us on to Phil & Ted's because we LOVE our new stroller.
I am not going to be a sales girl for the stroller but it's proven to be perfect for our daily walks. C has her nice seat on top and R fits underneath in a little area that rocks her to sleep every time we go out. If you look closely in the top picture you can see R's feet under C. The even better thing is that as soon as R the neck strength, we can switch the seats up still use the stroller. I'll take more pics when we get to that stage.
Changes
This week was Miss R's 1 month check up. Time continues to fly by. She did great. Has managed to gain over a pound in 2 weeks. Is in perfect proportion for her height and weight. All is well. Thankfully we didn't have to get any shots this time but only because they were out. We have to go next week for her Hep B shot.
We found out she has birthmarks on both her eyelids. We didn't think she had any birthmarks and actually thought the red marks were from her delivery. Turns out we were wrong.
The only area of concern at this point is the fact that her face, head and neck are breaking out. The doctor didn't seem concerned but they weren't concerned when C was covered the same way. With C we had to make the decision to switch her formula and it ended up being the right decision.
This time around, as we have learned with other things. R is not like C. We've tried switching her to the hypo-allergenic formula we ended up putting C on but it DOES NOT appear to agree with her. We've tried too different times to give it to her and both times she projectile spits up almost immediately after we give it to her.
I am really not sure what to do at this point and am struggling trying to decide whether to just stick with the formula she is on or to try soy. If she wasn't still spitting up so much and all gassy all the time, I might not be as concerned. But her face has been like this for more than a week and seems to be getting worse, not better. I'll figure it out, I always do.

Kids say the funniest things
We knew from birth that Miss C was going to have a unique and fiery personality. It seems only fitting that now that she can talk she comes off with the most hilarious of things.
There are times when we know that something she says is a direct result of something we've said. Like when she says, "let's rock n roll" when we are leaving because that is what her Daddy says. Or when she says, "silly girl" because that is what her Mommy says.
There are other times when we're caught off guard by something she says. This week, it's happened twice. The first came when we were talking about Mommy's belly. Before I had Miss R we talked a lot about her being in Mommy's belly. This week we talked about her being out and then Miss C said, "put her back Mommy, put her back". Not sure how to respond to that one.
The other happened on our way home from the Farmers Market. As we walked down the street Miss C kept saying she wanted to go back to Old McDonald's and we had no freaking clue what she was talking about. Then she said, "go back to Old McDonald's Farm" because she equated the Farmers Market with Old McDonald.
I am sure no one else on the planet thinks this is as funny as we do...but she is hilarious.
