Grabbing & Other Stuff
This has been a week filled with Miss C grabbing everything. She has reached that point where she grabs things and promptly tries to put them in her mouth. Case in point, her floor exerciser thingy has this giraffe on it with balls for feet and she pulls it's legs and tries to stuff the "feet" in her mouth. Hilarious. She's also grabbing my hair, her feet, blankets, clothes and anything else she can get her little drool covered hands on.
Right now she has a nasty little cough that I am attributing to the day care. The day care that we told this week she would not be returning after the 20th due to our IN HOME CHILDCARE. Woohoo. We are so lucky to have this happen...I am crossing my fingers it works out.
Things have been a little hectic around here with SP's shoulder recovery, my going back to work at a very busy and stressful time and trying to raise a baby. It's really easy to get caught up in it all and almost forget what really matters. Thankfully, I have my smiley little girl to remind me.

Blue Jean Baby
Water baby
While it wasn't exactly like bath time, Miss C did a great job taking her first dip in the pool. We didn't keep her out too long though because it was 92 degrees and well, it was a little hectic at the pool because SP's cousin had her 3 dogs there swimming too.
I think our girl is going to take to the water very well and she can't wait to go for a dip in Nana and Papa's pool with her cousins.
Also, notice my mom suit...as Sha told me a one piece doesn't equal mom suit and SP did tell it made me look skinny. Man, he sure did learn how to say all the right things during my pregnancy didn't he? Love him!

So this is me now
At this very moment, Miss C is sitting next to me talking to a stuffed bear she got as a gift and shoving her fists (yes, both of them) into her mouth.
I am still fighting the looming depression that is called trying on a bathing suit after having a baby.
God, what a f-ing nightmare.
My entire life...my ENTIRE life, I have always worn a bikini. Sure, be pissed at me for that if you want. Whoa is me and all, right? But it is what it is. Today, I bought my first summer suit that was a one piece. It wasn't a suit I use for lap swimming. It was the one I plan on wearing tomorrow when we take Miss C for her first swim in Aunt Kay's pool
It's a mom suit. Yes, I am a mom, but I don't want the mom body.
I am close to be able to fit back in to most of my pre-pregnancy clothes. Most, not all. Because this body is no longer the same as it was before I had Miss C.
So, I keep trying to tell myself it took me 9 months to get this body so it'll take a little time to lose it. But damn, summer in a mom suit isn't looking very fun.

The difference a year will make
This time last year I was pregnant but didn't know it yet. It wasn't until a little later in the month that I found out about my little Biscuit. I haven't called her that since she was born. Weird.
It's been a long and crazy year filled with a lot of vomiting, tears, laughter and smiles. There definitely is some truth to forgetting about the pain of labor, but the memories of pregnancy haven't fully left me yet. Hated that.
Of course Miss C, her Daddy's lil' Monkey, has definitely helped in lessening the memories of the misery I felt for the majority of my pregnancy. She was worth it. Just not any hurry to give her any siblings.
I am amazed at where we are today. It's a place I didn't think I would get to and while it's been a hard year in many ways I know we made the right decision to have a baby. I know it in my heart of hearts everytime Miss C laughs out loud.
