In an effort to help Miss C further adjust to her new "baby sista" we have decided to start doing a date night with her. We did the first one last night.
SHE LOVED IT.
We did some of her most favorite things...we went to dinner and had "maci-roni" and then to a small local airport to see the airplanes. It was all about her and she beamed. We were able to see an actual Cessna up close and she was thrilled. We also got to see a hot air balloon which she hadn't seen before. I am not sure if this will help her to realize that we still love her and care about her despite the arrival of her new sister but I hope it does, because we do.
The plan is to alternate with C having date night one week and R staying with the sitter and vice versa. This serves a couple of purposes. It gives C time with us and it also allows our sitter to become used to watching R. Then eventually we'll get back to date night that is just the two of us.
