Holiday Tradition #2 - H*liday in Lights

These pictures don't really show you H*liday in Lights but really it's less about that and more about the sheer joy Miss C displayed seeing the lights. Basically what this was, was a car ride through a local park that had a couple miles worth of holiday lights on display.

It was the highlight of Miss C's day. The noises she made showing her excitment pointing here and there at everything was hilarious. I think her face in these pictures speaks volumes.

Holiday Tradition #1 - Cookie Making

These are not the best pictures mostly because they are blurry but I wanted to share anyway. We decided to start a cookie making tradition with Miss C during the holidays. We got off pretty easy this year because we could just buy one of those pre-made cookie dough logs and she was super excited. I am sure in years to come this will develop into some cookies from scratch but for now this worked just fine.

We let Miss C roll her own cookie dough which went into her mouth first, then onto the baking sheet. After they baked we decorated them with red icing and let her eat as many as she wanted. Yum Yum.

Surprise

Last week Miss C surprised me when she came into the bathroom while I was getting ready for work and said poo poo. Now, this isn't the first time she has said that so I wasn't surprised by that exactly. I was more surprised by her actually sitting on the potty and proceeding to pee pee and poo poo on the potty for the very first time.

I acted like a fool making a big deal about it so she wouldn't freak out. Hasn't happened since, but I figure that we are heading in the right direction.

Miss C Update 1:

With Baby Derby everything is ice water and hot wings. Which is what lead us to be eating hot wings the other night with Miss C. She had already eaten her dinner and was on her "snack" which is Vanilla Wafers.

We started eating and started dipping our wings into the blue cheese and she thought she'd join right in with the dipping. Next thing we know, she has her Vanilla Wafer dipped into the blue cheese and is eating it. Seriously, not a good mix and we thought for sure she'd make a face and stop the dipping. But, she didn't. She proceeded to dip all of her wafers in the blue cheese and eat like it was the best thing ever. Ick.

Miss C Update 2:

Saturday Miss C work early from her nap. I thought she might fall back asleep so I hung back listening to her to see if that actually happened. When she started saying poo poo, I realized that was going to happen so I went in to get her.

Turns out I had given her a little too much time in her crib after she woke up because I found her completely undressed, including her diaper. She was just sitting there going, poo poo. Thankfully, she is still working out the difference between poo poo and pee pee and had actually just peed on her bed. It was hilarious.

Baby Derby Update:
Everything seems to be going well with Baby Derby. Had my 5 minute appointment this week and the heartbeat is strong. We go back next month for the ultrasound. Still no complaints aside from the ridiculously uncomfortable left hip/inner thigh problems I seem to be plagued with. Had the same thing with Miss C. Thankfully the other night my hip popped twice and that appear to have helped a little.

We are currently discussing names and deciding when we'll start on the nursery. I feel bad for this little one because he/she will get a lot of hand me downs from Miss C but you can't buy all new stuff, it's just not practical.

Miss C Update

This week has been very busy one for me at work. Today was my first day off in 7 and I have been working 12 hours each day. I am exhausted and have only seen Miss C a few minutes each night. This has required me to rush home every night but it's been worth it. She really is a funny girl and I don't want to miss a second of her.

Things are supposed to be like this at work for at least another 2 weeks so the writing will be minimal. I would much rather just write here and keep you informed of our daily lives but time just does not permit it.

Baby Derby

I am now 15 weeks pregnant with Baby Derby and am pleased to announce that I am vomit free. This is what pregnancy is supposed to be, like I think. If not, I must admit it is WAY better than when I was pregnant with Miss C. Sure my body is not my own. My boobs are huge, my skin is breaking out (which didn't happen with Miss C), my butt and belly feel bigger earlier than before, but honestly I cannot complain.

People have asked me if I thought since I felt differently I was having a boy. Honestly, I have no freaking clue, but we'll know in a few more weeks. We'll find out again this time and have even picked a name we might use.

The sad news is that I won't get to do this pregnancy with my sis. She had another miscarriage and I am just so sad for her. Having never experienced a miscarriage before I cannot even begin to imagine what that must be like but I am sure it is heartbreaking. I was so looking forward to having our new little ones close together again. Please keep them in your prayers.

Yep, we got it

Looks like the flu has hit our house. Miss C has been running a temp as high as 103.8 since Saturday with a running nose, nasty cough and has not been her usual self. Yesterday she threw up and when I spoke to the doctor on call she said it sounded like the flu. While we haven't been officially diagnosed if it looks like the flu and sounds like the flu, it's likely the flu.

Today, after two very long and exhausting days she appears to be on the mend. Her temp is down to 99 and she was up playing with Nana and Papa who graciously came up to watch her.
