Amy was unable to find affordable insurance that would allow her to continue to watch Miss C and go to school. So, after both of us crying about it yesterday, she will no longer be staying with Miss C after December 1.
We have been amazingly fortunate to have Amy stay with Miss C. It has been a wonderful 6 months and Miss C has greatly benefited from the one-on-one time. Amy clearly loves her and were it not for these circumstances we would have continued with her watching Miss C until she was older. But ultimately, she has to have health insurance and the only way for her to get something she could afford was to get a job that provides it.
We will GREATLY miss her and have already discussed plans to have her continue to see Miss C on a regularly basis. I am really sad right now and a little nervous about this new chapter in our lives. It will be a big change for me and I don't always do well with change.

Stuck between a Nanny and a Day Care
We have been on the list for the day care here at work since I was 3 months pregnant. A few weeks ago we were told over the phone that it would likely be Summer or Fall of next year before we got in. So, we planned accordingly.
Last week, before we left for our R & R, we were offered a spot at the day care and had/have 5 days to make a decision. Day 5 is tomorrow.
We discussed with Amy because our thought was to continue with home care and get Miss C back on the list. This would likely have her getting back in to the day care next year. When discussing with Amy we found out she has been without insurance for a month. This threw another wrench in our plans as now she has to make a decision regarding her path based on this need for insurance.
It's all very stressful.
We like the day care and while it would be an adjustment for us to do it now, we would. We just weren't really expecting it to be so soon.
I'll let you know the outcome.
In other news I think Miss C is getting sick. She slept a lot yesterday and woke up quite distraught at about 4 AM and wasn't consolable. We gave her teething drops, motrin and took her out of sleep sack because she seemed hot. Nothing worked. I ended up holding her which at first didn't really work but finally I was able to calm her down. Needless to say, SP and I are exhausted.

8 Months Old
Miss C turned 8 months on Monday and I have not had a second to stop and write about it. But I will. I promise.

Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh My!
Today we took Miss C to the zoo. We didn't dress her up in her Halloween costume because we sort of last minute decided to go, but it was cute to see all the little ones in their costumes.
She was so excited but I am not sure she noticed most of the animals. It was like she knew it was a good time but she didn't really get what the good time was all about. She kicked her legs and laughed with delight.
